Terra Donna Gardens is Hiring A FT/PT Garden Install and Land Stewardship Expert!
We are seeking a hardworking, Self-Starter and Plant Geek to assist with the installation and stewardship of our exquisite gardens. You are the perfect person to join our team if you value exceptional results, love to work outside in all weather conditions, have a sense of fun, artistic flair and a keen eye for detail.
This position is on a full or part time basis, three to five days per work week (rare weekend work), from mid - March through mid - December of 2023. We are a small business with great potential for growth. We seek someone interested in continuing in this position for the entire season.
Qualifications:
- At least 3-years professional landscaping experience, permaculture design implementation a plus!
- Familiarity and comfort using hand tools such as pruners, loppers, and shovels
- Familiarity and comfort using power tools, such as tilers, blowers, sod cutters, dingoes, and chainsaw
- Comfort driving work vehicles such as pick up and dump truck
- Well-rounded foundation of plant knowledge: identification of common weeds, annuals, and perennials; as well as the environmental conditions that each plant requires
- Strong body, with ability to do physical activity on a daily basis (i.e.: moving large quantities of mulch; consistently lifting 40 lbs., occasionally lifting 75 lbs.; kneeling / bending for long periods of time)
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and ability to strategize and streamline workflow
- Positive attitude and eagerness to exceed client expectations
- Sharp punctuality and time management skills
- Exceptional communication skills (must have smart phone with camera)
- Flexible schedule – schedule can change daily depending on weather and other job demands
- Must have valid PA Drivers’ License!
- Must have own transportation – a truck is a plus!
Responsibilities:
- Weed, rake, and mulch garden beds, paths, and planters
- Plant a variety of perennials, shrubs, and trees
- Prune and maintain shrubs and plants according to best horticultural standards and client needs
- Condition and prepare soil for planting using hand and power tools
- Complete planting design layout and installation according to plans
- Procure equipment for each project as necessary
- Assess project progress and make recommendations for streamlining work flow
- Update and maintain project management application
- Self - educate and constantly expand horticultural and ecology knowledge
- Maintain appropriate self-care (i.e. eating and drinking for optimum health), wear proper attire (boots, rain gear, hats, sunscreen), provide own, well-maintained tools
- Keep a clean, well-organized work area

Hours and schedule are subject to season, weather and client demands. We are seeking someone available to work up to five, 6-8 hour days per week (Mon-Fri)
Hourly rate is $18 - $23 per hour, depending on experience
This position is from March 15th – mid December 15th 2023, with the opportunity to continue into the 2024 season and beyond.
