•

I have spent most of my adult life as a professional artist. I earned a BFA from Tyler School of Art in Philadelphia, PA and worked as a commercial illustrator before finding my calling in painting landscapes. Some-time in the mid 1990’s I had the opportunity to paint outdoors on a farm. I loved the immediacy of responding to changing light and shadow patterns and this experience grounded me in the American landscape painting tradition. For the next 27 years I created and sold more than 900 paintings and participated in nearly 300 exhibitions while also teaching art to enthusiastic adult and teen students.

In 2010 I knew I was ready for my next professional chapter, and found its beginnings in Permaculture, when I worked as a volunteer with Transition Town Media. I was inspired by the simple principles and stewardship ethos of permaculture, and I was hooked! I earned my Permaculture Design Certification in 2013 with the desire to utilize my new knowledge in a professional capacity.

To expand my gardening knowledge and skills, I completed organic gardening classes, worked on an organic farm, and worked for a local gardening business for four years. I also took landscape design classes at Longwood Gardens. In 2019 I felt the call to start my own company and thus Terra Donna Gardens was born.

Terra Donna Gardens is my new "art studio" in which I bring you the beautiful gardens you want and deserve, by combining my artistsic design skills with my passion to take care of the planet.

With creativity and integrity, I strive to improve the health of our planet, one garden at a time, for the benefit of all.

I have spent most of my adult life as a successful professional artist. I earned a BFA from Tyler School of Art in Philadelphia, PA and worked as a commercial illustrator before delving into making the landscape paintings that were always calling to me.

In 2010 I knew I was ready for my next chapter but did not know how it would begin. Volunteer work with Transition Town Media introduced me to Permaculture. I was inspired by the knowledge that simple adjustments to how we live and work with the land can reduce the negative effects that humanity has had on the natural world. Permaculture systems can be implemented and practiced in the smallest of spaces as well as in large acreages. I was hooked and earned my Permaculture Design Certification in 2013 with the desire to utilize my new knowledge in a professional capacity.

To strengthen my gardening expertise, I completed several organic gardening classes and worked part time for a local garden maintenance business for 4 years. I also began landscape design classes at Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square, PA. In 2019 I felt the call to start my own company and thus was born Terra Donna Garden Gardens. With this venture, I am able to seamlessly combine my artistic and design skills with my passion for working for the Earth through permaculture, horticulture, and organic gardening practices.

With creativity and integrity, I strive to improve the health of our planet, one garden at a time, for the benefit of all.
